Intro

Chartered Accountancy is rated as one of the toughest exams to crack in India. Studying for CA tests you in every way. It teaches you how to manage your time between classes and articleship, teaches you how to sit at work for late hours to cater to your clients. Teaches you how to burn the midnight oil and study for long hours. Teaches you how to handle stress like situations. It teaches you failure. With such low passing percentages , Failure is not uncommon among students. And this is what makes us different. CA students are hence known to be the toughest. The students who know how to rise even after a fall.

The CA Final Results for July 2021 has just been released, for the students who cleared, Congratulations from all of us at Vivitsu. For those who did not manage to clear, DO NOT lose hope! We have you covered. We are here to help you out! [P.S one of our co founders took 3 attempts to clear CPT, and is a chartered now. So if he can I am sure you can do it too]

What to do next ?

Get your chin up and think about the next attempt, reminiscing about the past equals to wasting your future! You have 81 days ahead of you to your next attempt, use it wisely. Here is a study plan to help you out.

Step 1- Students need to identify & analyze:

  • Subjects in which you got less than 40
  • Subjects in which you got marks in the 40-55 range
  • Subjects in which you missed exemption by 5 marks (56-59 range)

Step 2-There can be 2 scenarios as listed below:

  • Group 1 & Group 2
  • Only Group 1 or Only Group 2

Studying for Group 1 & Group 2

Before I tell you the plan one thing to keep in mind is do not give only one group. Many students make the mistake of concentrating on a single group and do not consider the power of set off.

This study plan is if you are giving all 8 papers in the next 81 days-

Once the subjects are distributed into one of the three categories (A,B or C) as mentioned above, approximately the following days should be allocated to each-

  1. Subjects which you got less than 40- (Approx. 11-14 days)
  2. Subjects which you got marks in the 40-55 range- (Approx. 9-11 days)
  3. Subjects in which you missed exemption by 5 marks (56-59 range)- (Approx. 7-9 days)

First Reading-

For Category A- (6-8 days)

For Category B- (5-6 days)

For Category C- (3-4 days)

In case of Practical subjects- Solving is key! Please try to practice more exam-oriented sums. Go through your classes material and at least solve last 4 RTP, MTP and Past Papers to get a better idea of what kind of sums are asked. Preferably once you are done with a chapter you can solve the RTP, MTP and Past Paper pertaining to that chapter. Try solving one exam paper with a timer so you get used to the exam environment. For Category A subjects going back to the fundamental concepts is very important. Always mark the questions into easy, medium, and difficult categories while solving the RTP, MTP and Past Papers for easy reference during revision.

In the theory subjects- For Category A & B, if you have not made important notes & highlighted important sections during the previous attempt, please do the same. The reason for your performance can also be that you may have known the answer but presenting it would have been an issue this could also be because of not having a good command over the English language. The solution for this is to read as many answers as possible from exam-oriented questions. Preferably once you are done with a chapter you can solve the RTP, MTP and Past Paper pertaining to that chapter. Carefully analyze at least last 4 RTP, MTP and Past Papers to see how the answer is presented and what all points are important to score the marks required. Try solving one exam paper with a timer so you get used to the exam environment. Always mark the questions into easy, medium and difficult categories while solving the RTP, MTP and Past Papers for easy reference during revision.
